Three Ways To Run Low-Level Format Using Intel® Software Tools for Solid State Drives
Option 1: Intel® Solid State Drive Toolbox (Intel® SSD Toolbox)—Run Secure Erase
- Delete all partitions on the Intel® SSD to be erased.
- Download and install Intel® Solid-State Drive Toolbox on another hard drive.
- Install the faulty SSD as secondary drive by plugging into a SATA/eSATA port.

Open Intel® SSD Toolbox. Click Secure Erase.

Click Erase.

Option 2: Intel® Data Migration Software (IDMS)- Acronis* DriveCleanser
- Download and install the Intel® Data Migration Software.

Launch the software.

Click Acronis* DriveCleanser.

Select the hard disk with data to wipe.

Click OK to confirm.

Select the hard disk wiping algorithm. See example for U.S. Standard.
- Depending on the algorithm you choose, you can select the number of passes from 1, up to 35.

Click Proceed.
Option 3: Create Bootable Media Intel® Data Migration Software - Acronis* DriveCleanser
- Download and install the Intel® Data Migration Software.
- Run the software.
- Insert a blank CD or USB drive in your system.

Click Create Bootable Rescue Media.

Click Next to proceed with the wizard.

Select the bootable components of the Intel products being put on the bootable media.

Select the drive you are using to create the bootable media. You can create CD, DVD, USB flash drive or other bootable media, or build an ISO image of a bootable disc.

The software creates a bootable data migration software in the USB flash drive. Click Proceed and follow the wizard.
- After bootdisk is created, change the boot priority in your system to boot from the CD-ROM or USB.
- On the screen click this option: Use Intel® Data Migration Software.
